Our mentoring and homework assistance programs have provided a haven for children after school when parents are still at work. Children receive a snack, get help with homework, and their minds are opened and influenced by adults or teens from the local community who care enough to share their time.

Through Upward’s mentoring program many children are shielded from the risks associated with being unsupervised. Our goal is to provide a safe haven after-school while parents are still at work. Elements of the program include:

•Mentoring from successful adult and teen volunteers

•Field Trips and After-school snacks

•Computer Training

•Homework Assistance

•Standardized Test Preparation
